"Joseph Baker has been awarded the W.S. “Pete” White Award in Engineering Education from the College of Engineering. A research lead on the SuperDARN HF Radar Group, Baker receives high ratings from the students who take his challenging two-semester undergraduate electromagnetic fields sequence class."
"Michael Ruohoniemi has been awarded a faculty fellowship from the College of Engineering. He will receive $5,000 annually for three years to support his research in high-frequency radar development, magnetosphere-ionosphere coupling, ionospheric physics, and space weather."

Congratulations to Dr. Joseph Baker on receiving the W.S. "Pete" White Award in Engineering Education and to Dr. J. Michael Ruohoniemi on being named a Faculty Fellow at the 18th annual Dean's Awards reception on April 28, 2015. Mike and Jo arrived at Virginia Tech in 2008 from the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory and have built a research team consisting of engineers and graduate students; their first three doctoral students graduated in the 2013-2014 academic year.
