Invitation Letters

If you need an invitation letter for your visa application, please e-mail the Workshop Organizing Committee (sd-2025-g@vt.edu) with a copy of your CV. Please do this as soon as possible. Registration can be completed after positive indication on your visa application.

Charlotte Douglas International Airport

The Roanoke-Blacksburg Regional Airport (ROA) is the closest to venue with a free shuttle to Hotel Roanoke. Washington-Dulles (IAD) or Washington-Reagan (DCA) are the closest major airports, but require additional modes of travel (rail, car rental, etc.)

Roanoke Amtrak Station

By Train

Amtrak provides daily service to Roanoke (RNK) from Washington DC's Union Station (WAS) and other major cities along the Northeast corridor. Washington DC's Union Station connects to the Washington Dulles airport through multiple service lines/tracks of the Washington Metropolitian Area Transit Authority (commonly known as the Metro).

Roanoke is easily accessible via Interstate 81 (I-81) and US-460. The Hotel Roanoke provides:
